My nose gets clogged up something awful with the dry indoor winter air. I've been using Ayr saline mist which helps. I occasionally see this navage thing advertised on TV .

I rarely consider buying any of that TV stuff, you can buy this in retail stores or online. I looked up consumer reviews of this item, they were overwhelming positive, people love this thing !

www.navage.com

Anyone here use it ? It looks pretty good to me.

Being damn cold with snow here, I always open the windows for about 30 mins when it is raining/snowing to get moist air in

I use it, I love it, it's very easy to use, no head tilting, no leaning over sinks, takes about 20 seconds.

How often are you using it ?

Year-round daily ?

Seasonal ? As needed ?

I've read that you shouldn't use Navage, neti pots etc. More than 3 times a week because you are flushing out good bacteria along with the gunk clogging your sinuses, but hey you need to be able to breathe also !

Yes, I'M aware of that . I'M not getting Navage just yet . I ordered some nasal irrigation bottle thing for $3 shipped, I'll try that first, looks like you get the same flow through effect with that
I feel stupid paying $3 for less than 2 ounces of salt water with that Ayr product. I am going to make my own from now on . Half a teaspoon of noniodized salt (like kosher ), same amount of baking soda and 8 oz distilled water... Same thing for one cent per oz

The simple $3 Chinese irrigation bottle works well enough, I'll pass on the fancy $80 version. However I have never looked up any product and found such universally positive reviews as this one gets.

I'm thinking it is a weather related temporary condition. Weather has been really weird here in Southern Ct this winter. We usually would have a few feet of snow on the ground this time of year, absolutely nothing so far on the immediate shoreline, plenty of really cold days like down near zero and some days near 60, just all over the place temperature wise, above normal precipatation but always as rain as rain. I shoveled like an inch of snow one morning and it all melted during the day anyhow. I'm not complaining about no snow. I think this odd weather is what is fucking up my sinuses and it should clear up as things get more normal. I have no allergy problems with pollen and such.

Thanks for your opinion , bilbal !

I had it. It didn't get the job done like I though it would. I've had my mucus membrane removed tho, so I needed it to clean me out more than anything else. NeilMed Sinus rinse is what works the best for me.

I didn't Know it was possible to have mucous membranes removed. Ayr works good for me , but I'm cheap and poor, so I make my own version of it, works good enough. I'm quite certain it is the super dry indoor air causing issues.

I had a rare cancer going from my nasal cavity up to my eye socket and brain, so it had to be taken out. Don't realize how important it is till it's gone. But i've tried everything and I always end up back to the old neilmed and salt packets, the electric ones just dont have the power and are a pain in the ass if you have to do it 1 to 2 times a day.
